This Saturday, May 12th, the National Association of Letter Carriers is urging everyone to help “Stamp Out Hunger” with the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! Stamp Out Hunger is the largest one-day food drive in the nation and will help feed millions of families in all 50 states!
This is a perfect time for you to go through your pantry and donate any non-perishable and unexpired food items as possible to support this cause! The top requested non-perishable food items are: cereal, pasta, pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals (such as soups, chili and pasta), 100% juice, peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, canned protein (tuna, chicken and turkey), beans (canned or dry). You also can donate healthy, low-sodium, low-sugar items such as beans, oatmeal and other whole grains, and canola or olive oil.
Be sure to leave them at your mailbox this Saturday, May 12th. Your letter carrier will pick up your items and deliver them to local food banks or pantries.
