If your current contract is up, you're looking for a better rate, or it's just time to switch, did you know in Texas that you have the Power to Choose what electric provider to use?
About two years ago, we were with another electric provider, and were seriously paying $60/mth in delivery charges alone! After browsing the site for my area, I found one that was perfect for us: 4Change Energy
We didn't have the best credit, but weren't required to make a down payment, and the cancellation fee is only $20 per remaining contract months....a lot less than most of the other companies. They had one of the best rates, there's no hidden fees, and they're charitable (They give 4% of their profit to charities we love).
I currently found 2 12-month plans available for them in the Killeen and Harker Heights area. For those who live in smaller homes, or that can better regulate their monthly energy usage and stay under 1000 kWh per month, I would suggest checking out their Easy Saver 12 Plan, where the current rate is just 6.7¢/KWH. It's simple: you'll pay $67 for up to 1000kwh, AND the price INCLUDES TDU charges and taxes! If you happen to go over that amount, the next tier is 13¢/KWH for 1001-2000 kWh.
The second option is the Budget Saver 12. The current rate for new customers is 8.5¢/kwh for usage up to 1000 kWh, ($85) and an additional $85 for usage up to 2000 kWh which is what we use and we love it because there is no guessing what our bill will be.
Check them out and see if it's for you: 4 Change Energy
If you don't see the pricing mentioned above, or just aren't the most internet savvy-- give them a call at (844) 840-1066 and mention f319937 when you sign up.
Plus, on top of savings, they'll give you a $25 Visa® Reward Card when you switch!
Even if you don't choose 4change, know that you have the power to choose to find out other provider's pricing in your area.
**Do note, that although we were not required to make a down payment, you may be required to provide an initial deposit before
receiving electric service if you cannot demonstrate satisfactory
credit.
** Also Note: Visa® Reward Cards will be mailed out once your referral has paid their second invoice in full.
